This field of study will equip a student, how to provide assistance, information, cultural, historical and contemporary heritage interpretation to people on organised tours and individual clients at educational establishments, religious and historical sites, museums and at venues of other significant interest. How to guide visitors in the language of their choice and normally posses an area-specific knowledge of tourist attractions.

Training is conducted over four years, 1st – 3rd year is six months in the Institute and six months in Industry (job attachment position).

Minimum Admission requirements
At least 18 years’ of age
At least a Grade 10/12 Certificate with a pass in ICT, English, Business Management
Grade 10’s to Pass an aptitude test (if decided on by AfriSay VTC)
Pass a full medical examination
Preferably employed by a company capable of providing the necessary work experience.
Any other requirements asked for by AfriSay VTC
Minimum Admission requirements for Mature Age:
23 years’ of age
Write a Mathematics (Basic Numeracy) and English Proficiency entrance test
Minimum 3 years work experience in related field.
Minimum Admission requirements for Upskilling:
Minimum 3 years work experience in related field.
Proof of work experience/testimonials prerequisite
English Literate
Must be employed to enable trainee to complete necessary tasks before entering next level.
