Occupational Health and Safety

This field of study will equip students with how to maintain the workers' physical and mental well-being. This includes providing proper nutrition and rest, managing stress, and protecting against workplace hazards through wellness programmes within the company. It also on the other hand, focuses on reducing risks at workplaces, within the mining, engineering, building and civil industries respectively.

How to conduct training for emergency procedures. To analyse potentially hazardous materials, and train workers who handle the hazardous materials. Investigates accidents and completes reports, as needed.

How to monitor the work environment for unsafe acts or unsafe conditions as well as overseeing work-place safety as well as the health, safety and security of all employees employed by the company, How to use and recommend Health and Safety Systems within a company.

Please Note:

  • Training is conducted over three years, 1st – 3rd year is 10 months in the Institute and 2-3 months in Industry (job attachment position).
